2012 Children's Choice Awards

Our hope is that this initiative encourages:

  • kids to read for the love of reading

  • kids to tell us what they think is the best book of the year

  • schools and public libraries to work together to support kids and reading

Check out the website for this year: RCs Clubhouse

Kids, teachers, and librarians will have the chance to post videos, reviews, and pictures. Voting will run April 1 - 30, and kids across the county will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite book.

The Celebration of Reading will take place on Tuesday, May 8th at Soldiers and Sailors in Oakland, during Children's Book Week

Jane Kelley, author of Nature Girl, is our keynote speaker and will kick off our Celebration! The winning book will be announced and kids will be able to participate in a variety of activities throughout the day.

Here is the official press release about the CCA awards. Feel free to share and change it to fit your needs!  PressRelease-12.docx
